The Icon 48 (design no. 143) will be built by “K & M Yachtbuilders” in Makkum. The yacht was originally designed in composite, but re-constructed in Sealium. Sealium is a marine grade aluminium alloy, created and registered by Alcan Marine and has a 15 percent higher welded yield strength than standard alloys. The yard will start at the end of 2007.
The preliminary design of the Icon 48 is finished. This 48ft composite sailing yacht with a teak deck and cockpit is primary designed for sailing, but will have a comfortable interior for four people as well.
