A new yard in Dalian signed the contract for a 48ft cruiser/racer to be build in composite. The Icon 48 is originally an aluminium constructed design and at the moment we’re designing the moulds and a new set of drawings for the composite construction. The goal is to start with a few prototypes and after that to start a serial production. At the moment the yard is building a range of motoryachts with a length of 35 till 125ft.
Trust Yachts signed the contract for building the T-yacht 950 (design 162) in China. This yacht will be build in carbon/epoxy. The T-yacht 950 is a fast cruiser, with 4 berths, a spacious toilet and washing area in front of the mast
Portside and starboard are sliding boxes, where it’s possible to install a cooker and a sink. The cockpit is spacious, with a large steering wheel. The bowsprit will be integrated in the hull construction.
In October, we sailed the ChinaCup in Shenzhen. Four TEN’s were racing and it was the first race for the Farnova 60. The ChinCup is a great event which is well organized. The first day started with a race from the Hong Kong Royal Yacht Club in Hong Kong to the racing area at the east side of Shenzhen.
Day 2 and 3 we had six upwind downwind races and the last day, there was a round the island race. The competitors are international and the level of sailing is good. Every day there was a price giving in the Sheraton hotel.
New orders for SYD. This month we got two new orders. One 28ft cruiser⁄racer built in composite and a robust aluminium 50ft yacht.
